LOOK & TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT, LEAD ANIMATION

Imaginary Forces was given the exciting chance to re-imagine the iconic HBO static for their brand promo. I was brought in during the development stage and helped determine how the static mechanic would look, move, and function with various kinds of footage. The final look employed hundreds of thousands of static ’pins’ to produce the effect and transitions seen throughout the piece.

Being given the opportunity to explore the world of the iconic HBO Static was a thrill. It’s a part of the HBO brand’s DNA and we wanted to show the audience the 3D world that has always lived within the famous white noise. We hope this new version gives you the same feels you got when hearing the opening growing up!
